CRC 1182’s Nancy Obeng featured in Kiel Uni’s Portraits of female Scientists
Dr Nancy Obeng is a research assistant at the Institute of Zoology at Kiel University in Professor Hinrich Schulenburg’s group for evolutionary ecology and genetics. There she is researching the adaptation of bacteria to their host in the context of Collaborative Research Centre 1182 Origin and Function of Metaorganisms. This is a research network that deals with metaorganisms, i.e. units of hosts and their associated microbes, and tries to understand which bacteria and which fungi live in animals and plants, for example, how they exchange, what influence they have on each other’s development and how well their interactions can be predicted.
