John Archibald, Dalhousie University, Genes and Genomes of Microorganisms

In this contribution to our host-microbe interview series, CRC 1182-speaker Prof. Thomas Bosch talks to Prof. John Archibald, Dalhousie University, Halifax, who has already been our guest at the very start of the CRC 1182 in 2016. A few years later, we invited him to share his thoughts on the development of the host-microbe research field since and also reflect upon his important research questions on genes and genomes of microorganisms, genes transfer between eukaryotes, prokaryotes and viruses, as well as endosymbionts becoming organelles.
